• Involved in the Hamilton Speedway club racing and a Marshall - sometimes in some tricky places dodging the cars coming around the corners - helped to know what was expected.
• Moved to Ballarat Railway workshops - working on passenger cars, and helping sort out pays for 720 employees.
• Involved with junior coaching in Ballarat for a few years and the Ballarat bowling club no longer there now, and helping out behind the bar on a wedding night - having to seperate the parents of the bride and groom from behind the bar!
• Returned to Hwyood in 1979 helping out with Hewyood and District Bowling club coaching, scoring sheets and washing the basketball tops for over 25 years.
• Played football at Macarthur against John Pye in Bessiblle, as well as with Tony South at Heywood.
• In 1990 started volunteering at Hewood Rural Health - patient transpoprt, meals on Wheels from 2006 driving around 315km on a Tuesday morning before 0715am with Sandra Crone using the Hospital vehicle. Involved with Hwyood Lions club about 15 years ago.
• Volunteered as assistant coach at Branxholme Wallacedale playing in the grandfinal against Tyrendarra in reserves final going down by 27 points in a wintery hailing day of football.
• Heavily involved in street rodding, now in a 1936 Dodge and travel to all the Nationals  - havent been to NT yet but I drive it everywhere and meet many people along the road.
• Involvesd in the organising committee of hte nationals event in Mt Gambier which brought in $13M to the Mt Gambier community.
• 2006 started to organise a Mens shed in heywood and after some time - the Mens shed was built on Heywood Rural Health land - Its now 13 years sinces its inception (24th July 2011)

  • Involved with Suicide prevention - Black Dog events each year
  • Involved with all the Menshseds in the district - hold a mens hsed cluster meetings - Sept 11 this year - a guset speaker about all the sink holes around Mt Gambier - Ian Lewis is guest speaker who
  • Work for the dole people working at mens shed - 14 started some years ago - all who now have full time employment as a result of being involved.
• Everything is confidential brought up in the men shed for both womens and men are members and are welcome.

• Started as a Western District employment acess (WDEA) - requiring 15 hours of  voluntary work and has been involved with the Mens shed 8 years later.
• Welcomed to the mens shed as "One of the Boys" and the newly introduced swear jar quickly became filled, but is no longer needed
• Working behind the scenes in an administration assistant doing some filing and computer work
• Helping out with Meals on Wheels with fresh and frozen meals to Byaduk, Narrawong, Drumborg and Dartmoor for around 12 people each week
• Enjoy our third year with the black Dog event - lots of organising.
• Monday Tuesday and Friday monring - exercise program.
• Terry Sparrow is encouraging people to sing Karaoke at Wood Wine and Roses next year.
• Membership of around 35 members with half men and half women. Low fees of First year $35.
