Well done to all those who helped out at the events last week - it was a huge effort but amazing to have so many happy to help.
Reminder about goods for our "Happy hampers", lids/tops for "Lids4kids" and Foreign coins for UNICEF.
Speakers notes....From Kym Stock - the Rotary Foundation
The main points tonight-
Rotary foundation - the financial arm of Rotary
Its allows our club to participate in projects we couldn't do without funding.
It shows that as Rotarians - we are ourselves prepared to support communities financially.
Funding is aligned with the 7 areas of focus
91% of funds are used for projects
It has achieved a 4 star rating (4/4) one of the best in the world.
An example is our Nepal teacher training involving 7 other clubs, an NGO and trained over 70 teachers in 3 years - amazing stuff!
Rotary foundation - using your computer type in rotary.org - read the Ukraine ambulance story on the front page. then click My Rotary and Rotary foundation on the link bar
Looking for projects? check out Rotary showcase to see what people are doing or need help with. type in http:rotary.org/en/project/pages/project_showcase.aspx to look up projects
