Beats Cycle Support Programs

 
The current support programs have 2 primary focuses 
  1. Direct support to cancer patients via the donation of 'Random Act of Kindness' $200 gift cards, and
  2. Support to the carers and families of cancer patients, via ‘Caring for Cancer Carers’ (C4CC) Program.
 
 
 
C4CC has several components.  Each of these may be made available to carers and their direct families.  Referrals are determined by Portland District Hospital cancer support staff in consultation with the Beats Cycle for Hope committee.
  • ‘Respite’:  Financial support for various local activities.  The objective is to assist families to enjoy some time away from patient support.  Examples are gift vouchers for attendance at Portland Leisure and Aquatic Centre, the Funky Hearts Centre and for performances at the Portland Arts Centre.
  • Financial Support:  Where there is a particular need, provide some additional funds to assist.   Examples have been pharmacy bills and travel/accommodation costs.
